Our September Screen 2 film will be The Shape of Water by director Guillermo Del Toro (Pan's Labyrinth).

Del Toro spins an other-worldly fairy tale against the backdrop of Cold War era America circa 1962. In the hidden high-security government laboratory where she works, lonely Elisa (Sally Hawkins) is trapped in a life of isolation. Elisa's life is changed forever when she and co-worker Zelda (Octavia Spencer) discover a secret classified experiment.

The Shape of Water is in part a homage to classic monster movies of the 1950s and a re-working of 'The Beauty and the Beast'. The result is a visually stunning love story with a strong message about empathy.

"Del Toro works visual miracles in a film spiked with mirth, menace and an extravagantly generous empathy that transcends language" Peter Travers, Rolling Stone

"Fantastic director Guillermo Del Toro clearly put everything he had into this wonderful monster movie/romance, from a beautiful, labyrinthian visual scheme to a powerful story of love and empathy." Jeffrey M. Anderson, Common Sense Media

Tickets cost £4 for adults and £2 for under 18s, and are available online now or in advance from Watts Trading or on the door if not already sold out.
