Audience reaction
Doors and bar open 7pm, film starts 8pm
Our April film will be The Sapphires, an all girl soul group formed by Australian Aboriginal girls in the 60s.
Inspired by a true story, The Sapphires are four vivacious and talented Australian Aboriginal girls who long to escape their remote Australian home. Their likeable but inept manager books them to entertain the US troops where they get their first taste of stardom, love, friendship and war.
Empire Magazine said it was "far too lovable to resist" while Variety described it as a "vastly appealing true-life musical comedy".
The Sapphires will be shown on Monday 29th April, at the Church Rooms, Church Lane, Lostwithiel. Doors and bar open 7pm, film at 8pm. Tickets cost £4 for adults and £2 for under 18s, and are available online now or in advance from Watts Trading or on the door if not already sold out.
