Our May main film will be Populaire...
It's 1958 and 21-year-old Rose lives with her grouchy widower father and is engaged to the son of the local mechanic. She seems destined for a quiet, drudgery-filled life but that's not the life she longs for. When she travels to Normandy to work as a secretary, Rose reveals a special gift - she can type at extraordinary speed.
Note: French with English subtitles
'As if Mad Men had never happened, French romantic comedy Populaire takes a breezy, light-hearted approach to the late-1950s world of brooding male bosses and their demurely pretty secretaries.' Movie Talk
'It's a gorgeous picture that's highly amusing.' Blu-ray.com
Tickets cost £4 for adults and £2 for under 18s, and are available online now or in advance from Watts Trading or on the door if not already sold out.
