Our January Screen 2 film will be Mountain...
..... a magical wintry evocation of the world’s most spectacular scenery and the people who push the limits of climbing and adventure. From Australian documentary maker Jennifer Peedom, this visual feast is accompanied by a classical score from the Australian Chamber Orchestra with a narration written by Robert MacFarlane and voiced by Willem Dafoe. Composed from 2,000 hours of footage from 15 different countries, Mountain will keep you on the edge of your seat with amazing aerial camera work from some truly stunning locations.
“Mountain is a 70-minute rush of adrenaline; a safari into the sublime; a vertiginous voyage to the top of the world.” Janine Israel, The Guardian
“a nonstop sequence of mountains on all seven continents: breathtaking ranges and snow-capped peaks are seen from above, below and on their slopes. Additional footage includes climbers, skiers and extreme mountain bikers taking risks that seem beyond outrageous.” Ken Jaworowski, New York Times
Tickets cost £4 for adults and £2 for under 18s, and are available online now or in advance from Watts Trading or on the door if not already sold out.
